Announcement regarding renovation
works on the Tokyo Tower Main Deck (height 150m)

On March 3, 2018 (Saturday), to coincide with the completion of renovation works, Tokyo Tower Co., Ltd. renamed the Special Observatory (height 250m), which had been closed during the works, as the "Top Deck". In addition, we have started holding "Top Deck Tours", a hands-on observation tour available by reservation.

In conjunction with this, the Main Observatory (height 150m) has been renamed the "Main Deck". Since September 2017, the Main Deck has also been undergoing renovation works, including the replacement of window sashes. The Main Deck remains open to visitors, with work being conducted on one of its four sides at a time.

Work on the North side , the East side, and the West side has already been completed. Work on the South side (facing Shinagawa and Yokohama) will commence on 2 Febrary 2019.
Visitors will be unable to see the view from the South side from the Main Deck for about six months until around the end of July 2019.

We apologize for the inconvenience that this will cause and request your understanding in this matter.
